ObjectiveThe object of study in this thesis is Shaolin plaster, by collating literature of Shaolin plaster and systematic study, this thesis’s author want to explore the characteristics of Shaolin plaster and find useful clues, uptake of beneficial historical experience, provide reference for the development of new drugs, and promote Shaolin plaster with practical significance at the same time, also help to develop Shaolin excellent traditions and values.MethodThis paper mainly uses the bibliographic, historical and statistical method. Using the method of bibliographic search to collecte data, the main reference is shang keji cheng edited by Ding Jihua, which included 139 volumes discussion of orthopedics and monographs dynasties before 1911, of which fourth part is Buddhist Traumatology that consists of 26 volumes, and relates 19 volumes of Shaolin injury, then the author selects Shaolin plaster in them, also relating to zhong guo fo jiao yi yao quam shu and shao lin si wu shu shang ke mi fang ji shi and so on. Then using the statistical methods, according to different production process of plasters, divide them into hardened paste, ointment and application, then analys and summarize the characteristics of medication, production process.ResultFirst of all, by introducing the definition of the shaolin temple and its historical development process, knowing the the development process of shaolin temple, especially the development of shaolin martial arts, shaolin orthopedics and shaolin medicine, by introducing the history,classification and preparation process of plaster, understanding the plaster in play an important role in people’s production and living, in occupies an important position in human history. Through the discussion of the above two, determine the content of this thesis involved shaolin plasters is mainly songshan shaolin temple in Henan province, widely including south shaolin, the folk shaolin in the development process of plaster, and then organize the development course of shaolin plasters.Secondly, by introducing more than 20 records of shaolin plasters, the author selects 240 shaollin plaster, which constitutes of 50 hardened paste,59 ointment,131 application. Use the form of a table, and analyze the shaolin plasters, conclude that the shaolin plasters often use blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicinal, and compatibility of heat-clearing medicinal and tonics for deficiengcy syndromes, on the scripture in drugs, use more liver (bile), heart (intestinal) meridian. Then intueduce the preparation process of shaolin plasters in hardened paste, ointment and application. Shaolin hardened paste mainly summarizes the experience of the shaolin docter that make plaster, and compare with modern technology, which found the effective experience, shaolin ointments mainly introduces the commonly used drugs, which often use snail, worthy of our study for reference, shaolin application uses more simple, generally uses the injured the fresh grass or ready for the storage of powder plus other drugs deposited in the affected area.Finally, summarize the shaolin plaster in medicines, used, modern research and compare with plaster in theory, applied, docter, treatment, production and mechanism, to explore the advantages and disadvantages of shaolin plasters, provide value for modern orthopedics clinical, improvement shaolin plasters and better service for the society.ConclusionThrough the above research, it concluded that a lot of shaolin plasters are worth our research and utilization. The used drug of shaolin plaster conforms to the characteristics of orthopedics disease medication, tells us the use of blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicinal, heat-clearing medicinal, tonics for deficiengcy syndromes and the drug of liver (bile), heart (intestinal) meridian in terms of preparation, dezhengao in hardened paste, although uses ten kinds of oil, ten grass, and the complex process, has a wide range of treatment, is worth to be modern scientific research validation, development and provide clinical drugs, the use of a snail, toad ink preparation in Ointment is worth us to take advantage, in the use of a variety of substrates, simple drug and provide clinical method for handling emergency injury diseases in application and so on.
