Research And Implementation Of Intelligent Spam Filtering Firewall Based On Netfilter

Electronic mail (e-mail) is becoming one of the fastest and most economical ways of communication available. At the same time, the growing problem of junk mail (also referred to as "spam") has generated a need for e-mail filtering. E-mail user has received numbers of spam more than ones of normal e-mail and e-mail users have been disturbed by spam.Trying to resolve this problem, in this paper, a nicely, effective, commonly spam filter model are proposed after analyzing and researching Netfilter security framework and extensive capacity, combing the trend of spam and anti-spam technology. The research work and the contribution can be summarized in the following aspects:Researching the idea and implement of Netfilter security framework. Pointing out the problem and deficiency of anti-spam systems besides a summary about the produce and characteristic of spam and anti-spam technology.An intelligent spam filter firewall model based on Netfilter is proposed in this paper through decreasing the cost of spam filter. The model takes the vast computing to the later, and then filter system is no longer filter if spam has been found before it need take into account. Investigating anti-spam problem from the text categorization perspective and introducing the approaches of bayes and user profile using vector space model.In order to validate previous model a spam filter firewall system is designed and implement. The system can filter SMTP protocol and POP3 protocol through extending Netfilter security framework and run in kernel level in Linux in order to get good performance.Researching the key technology theory and implement about Naive Bayesian classifier, user profile, communications between kernel space and user space, Chinese word segmentation that need by processing Chinese character.It is proven by experiment that the Intelligent Mail Filter Firewall system designed and implemented by this paper shows a good effect and performance and the growing problem of spam can be stopped effectively.
