With the development of computer technology, as an important tool in data processing, computers are wildly used. While the more data becomes important, the more concern is been put on data's security. To ensure the safety of computer systems, the recourses (such as files, database, and application system) need to be protected by authentication. ID/Password schema is the most familiar way to protect system, such as login a website, password of a credit card and so on. In such condition, password is the only way that a user can prove himself. Once the user's password is revealed, serious damage may occur. If we use different password every time in ID/Password schema, also called dynamic password, it will improve the security obviously. We all knew that One-Time Pad schema in cryptology can achieve absolutely security, if we use it correctly. So when we use One Time Password, it is safe even a passive rival monitoring the communication. One way functions, especially hash functions often used in authentication and digital signature, they can prevent revealing of password in transmission. The secret holding by user is easy to reveal, if we split the secret into parts and save them in different way, missing of one part will not reveal hole secret. By studying the user ID/password system, this paper provides an efficient way to protect user's password, and improves system security, avoid the damage caused by password exposing. Based on analyzing the theory of one time password system, this paper discussed importance of secret splitting. The research has brought about a one time password system based on secret splitting. And there is an implementation of above technology in program.
