With the development of wide band and wireless network, the communication is desired to provide the multimedia service which include audio, video and data over IP, such as video conference. Based on the Research of current conference system, we work on the net frame and build a video conference system with the decomposed MCU.The system includes two parts terminals and conference servers, and the servers is the kernel which is based on the MCU and decomposed into application server and media server to execute the conference control and deal with media stream.This thesis is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the development of videoconference, the deficiency of current systems, the conception of decomposed MCU and our goal in the project. The related techniques of videoconference such as H.323 protocol, H.248 protocol are included in the second part. The design of the decomposed MCU system is described in the third part. In the fourth part, the key techniques adopted in the development and the developing process are introduced. In the following part, we analyse the system capability and discuss some security policy that can be used in this system. The last part is to summarize the achievement and show the future.
