Universal Serial Bus(USB) is one of the most important developments in PC peripheral interconnect technology since the introduction of serial and parallel in the early's. The benefits of USB, such as ease of use, true plug and play, high performance, and reduced overall system cost, are just a few of the reasons this technology has gone from specification to product development in less than several years. At the same time, with the developing and progressing of electrical technology, design to chip is becoming the mainstream of electrical system design.This paper, firstly, introduces knowledge about USB protocol; then, shows a universal digital signal process experimental platform scheme; then, discusses serial AD, serial DA and FPGA, SRAM and FPGA, CPU and FPGA, USB and CPU hardware design ,and so on; and shows their relevant software based on VHDL and C51; lastly, discusses USB driver, dynamic link library(DLL) usage and application design.The universal digital signal process experimental platform, not only finish AD data collection, DA output, USB and FPGA communication experimenrtion, but also deal with digital signal process experimention, for example, filter wave and spectrum analyzation and so forth.
