Match rule is an important component in artificial immune system, but the match threshold of match rule is difficult to set and several algorithms based on match rule can not be adapted to the change of self data because match threshold must be set at first. In this paper, inspired from the process of T-cells maturation which includes positive and negative selection, a novel match range model composed of two parameters is proposed. The range match rule based on match range model is used to replace the traditional match rule. Because match range is evaluated by selves, it can be adapted to the change of self data. Range match rule is used to improve on three algorithms which are Negative Selection Algorithm, Static Clonal Selection Algorithm, Dynamic Negative Selection Algorithm based on Affinity Maturation. All these improved algorithms are test by simulation experiment for intrusion detection. The results show that the match ranges of these improved algorithms are self-adapted.
