With the swift and violent development of computer network technology, the computer network faults have already become an important issue that can't be ignored, influencing every aspect of our life. At present, the computer network faults diagnosis mainly depends on personal perception and personal experiences. Sometimes it will spend them several days to remove a fault. So, we are expected to develop an ideal intelligent fault diagnosis system to help the technicians, in order to get rid of the trouble in time. Petri nets is a kind of good tool to describe parallel (concurrent) and dynamic systems, it has extensive application in many fields. At the same, the network faults'emergence and spread tally with the Petri nets'characteristics. Because of the uncertainty and fuzziness of fault messages, this paper tries to utilize a kind of improved Petri nets--Fuzzy Petri nets to describe the fault diagnosis expert knowledge of the computer network and try to put forward an efficient reasoning algorithm to diagnose the computer network faults. On the basis of research mentioned above, to counter the insufficient and complexity disadvantage of the algorithm, a new reasoning algorithm is presented in this paper. Prove through a diagnostic example, the conclusion can be drew that the algorithm put forward in this paper is successful, and it has very good market prospects.
