| The image processing and image recognition have been applied in many areas extensively, such as the transportation, remote sensing, the industry detection, biomedicine, geology, etc. Quality control technique of the artificial diamond particles also attracts many people's interests.The aim of this thesis is to discuss the image template matching method in the application of the diamond crystal shape recognition and the method of particles statistics in the image. An experiment system based on image processing techniques is implemented with the virtual instrument development toolkits of LabVIEW and the NI Vision 7.1 Development Modules.The main research contents of the thesis include:Firstly, the particles image recognition method is introduced based on the artificial diamond crystal shape and color information, with the single crystal template which is ready or selecting the template from the original image. The diamond crystal type can be classified quickly, and the matched crystal number can be counted.Secondly, the particles statistic method of the original diamond image is carried out in the thesis. With the vision development toolkits, according to the particles radius range, the procedure mold is designed to detect crystal particles number andreport the result in Microsoft Excel forms after gray level transforming, threshold processing, filtering, particles analyzing. It is advantageous to the quality control of the diamond production.Thirdly, the experimental results show that this experiment system can carry out the crystal classification and statistics of the artificial diamond image more quickly and accurately than the low accuracy and low efficiencies operation by hand. Furthermore, it can be extended to other application areas of images recognize.
