The Research Of Authentication System In Grid Environment

At present, with the constant development of the network technology, thenetwork scale is expanding constantly, the complexity of the network isincreasing day by day too. Meanwhile, the security question of the network ismore and more outstanding, the threat to network security increased day byday hindered the further development of the network seriously. In fact, thenetwork security becomes the great key problem of influencing nationalsecurity, economic development, personal life and social stability. So, thenetwork security becomes the present key subject for research.Grid Computing have emerged as an important new field, in which thereare still many problems for us to solve. First of all, security is very importantin Grid environment. Grid computing is concerned with the sharing andcoordinated use of diverse resources in distributed "virtual organizations."Thedynamic and multi-institutional nature of these environments introduceschallenging security issues that demand new technical approaches. In contrastto traditional network environment, Grid environments have a more broadrang of security requirements. In particular, one must deal with diverse localmechanisms, support dynamic creation of services, and enable dynamiccreation of trust domains.This paper has discussed the question of security in grid environment. Weanalyze the GSI (Globus Security Infrastructure) that Globus put forward.GSIis based on public key encryption, X.509 certificates, and the Secure SocketsLayer (SSL) communication protocol. GSI introduce the concept of UserProxy and Resource Proxy and define four security protocol (User ProxyCreation Protocol,Resource Allocation Protocol,Resource Allocation fromProcess Protocol,Mapping Registration Protocol).
