Creation And Clinical Application Of Database Of Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment

Objective: in order to make control of the information of single disease medical records as well as make a try in the area where non-computer specialist in clinics can develop their professional database , we plan to set up the database for RRD special cases .The database can not only keep and manage the relating clinic details of RRD patients ,but also facilitate the clinicresearch and guide the treatment.Method :Choose 996 patients who were diagnosed and operated in hospital as RRD by General Hospital of Liberalization Army ;Make use of the database software ie .Microsoft Access 2000; Develop interface by introducing Powerbulider 8.0; Set up RRD special case database and information management system, combined with the clinic features of RRD .Result: we successfully set up RRD database with ACCESS 2000,This database includes the case recording ,searching statistics, printing ,follow up ,member details and help seven functions and set up 188 types of wording in 6 categories .The database covered all the clinic information in detail of the RED patients and is easy to operate .We can conduct a thorough analysis of the RRD patient by using the database ,which includes the whole course of the disease ,the epidemiology of the type of patients and all the factors affecting the disease .The database has a great handling capacity ,it can not only record ,save ,classify ,quick check, keep track ,set up formats ,but also conduct statistical analysis and help the therapy of the patients .Conclusion: As for the development of clinic-informatization ,it is a trend for communication technology and computer to be used in clinic case history management and clinic study .RRD is the main type of retina disease .Today ,lots of problems remain unsettled ,such as the cause of RRD ,high-affected factors ,and factors influence RRD before ,during and after the operation ,prevent the complications on time .Huge specimen and statistic analysis are necessary for the study .The accumulation and study of clinic information ,and at the same time solve the problem in criterion ,standardization comparison ,etc. The purpose of the study is to build up bridges among clinic study ,clinic science and computer ,irnprove the communication between doctors and computer-operators.
