The acceleration sensor is a very important mechanical device. It is very significant for measuring and controlling object's motion. With the development of science and technology, there is a growing demand for acceleration sensor. New acceleration sensors with new principle, new structure, and new function have been the study focus in the world.Magnetic fluid is a new magnetic material which is stable colloidal suspensions of submicroscopic susceptibilities, yet is fluid-like in behavior. Magnetic fluid has showed its great power in many fields such as electricity, mechanism, medicine, physics and chemistry, since it was found by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).In this thesis, magnetic fluid was used in designing an acceleration sensor. And this is an advanced subject. The study on it will make measuring and controlling more conveniently, promote the development of sensor industry, and expand the magnetic fluid's applied fields.Documents about this subject having been searched and read, the knowledge about magnetic fluid acceleration sensor were surveyed in this paper. Magnetic fluid's production and its characters were studied, and its applications were also mentioned. Seven kinds of acceleration sensors were analyzed, and their design principles, merits and demerits were also summarized. Six design proposals of magnetic fluid acceleration sensor were studied. As a result, the design principle of this subject matter was confirmed. Peripheral circuits of sensor are so important that they are the key of the performances of the sensor. A set of peripheral circuits of the acceleration sensor were designed in this paper, which had high precision and stability and which included amplifier, rectifier, filter, analog-to-digital converter and LED display system. Aiming at the interference in the system, anti-interference technology was applied. The thesis is founded to guide the magnetic fluid acceleration sensor's fabrication.
