Fault tree analysis, FTA for short, is a kind of important method in systems reliability analysis. It is used extensively in industry domain such as astronautics, nuclear energy, electronics, machine, electric power, chemical engineering, and etc. The fault tree analysis method is a means that evaluates the system reliability and safeties, using to predict and examine the faults, analyzing the weak link of system, guiding to circulate and maintain, and the optimization design of system. Along with the technical exaltation of the computer science, the computer assistance the calculation has already become to an important method to the fault tree analysis. But most of the current assistance programs of fault tree analysis is applicable to the monotonic coherent system only, for the non-monotonous coherent system, the system with the statistically dependent event and such the complicated systems need to be study. This paper gives an elaborate study on these problems.The foundation theories of reliability analysis have been expounded in detail in this paper. The basic method and theorieses of fault tree analysis has also studied in this paper. With the theories foundation of the fault tree analysis in the monotonous coherent system, the paper carried on the detailed discussion to the quantitative analysis of the non-monotonous coherent system. The importance calculation formula of the monotonous coherent system and the parameters calculation formula of the repairable system has been expanded, the quantitative analysis method in fault tree analysis of the non-monotonous coherent system has been given, which based on the concepts such as positive critical state, negative critical state, positive correlation cut set, negative correlation cut set. For the system with the statistically dependent event, the simple application of the β factor method and the y factor method have studied in this paper.After the study on the theories, the module of the quantitative analysis in fault tree analysis was developed. The development of the module is using the technique of component object model (COM), the module was packaged in dynamic link library (DLL) form. With this technique, it can be used in the second development for the assistance program of fault tree analysis.
