Probabilistic Safety Analysis is a qualitative and quantitative analysis technique of system safety, which involves large amount of data and complicated calculation. With the advent of more and more complex systems, it is difficult to accomplish such work only by handwork. Computer-Aided Probabilistic Safety Analysis, which can improve the quality and efficiency greatly, is the inevitable trend of system safety analysis. On the basis adequate investigation on most kinds of mainstream PSA software, the CAPS, a computer-aided PSA software prototype, is designed and implemented. The design and implementation of CAPS is based on the key methods of PSA-Event Tree Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis. The main contents of this dissertation include:1. The combination of event tree analysis with fault tree analysis is discussed based on the study on the general steps and key methods of PSA. Then the CAPS, a computer-aided PSA software prototype is designed and implemented;2. The multi-branches tree drawing algorithm is presented, which is used in drawing fault trees;3. The idea is presented to convert sequences and consequences of event tree into their corresponding fault trees, which is used in the event tree analysis combined with fault trees. Then, a sequence analysis strategy based on cut sets matching is introduced, and the event tree fast analysis algorithm is implemented.
