With the swift development of LSI (Large Scale Integration) and computer sience, the digital technology has come into every field of knowledge. As analog signals are the most physical signals in the nature, the conversation from analog signals to digital ones has been the most important step on the way of signal procession and analysis control. Data acquistition system converts analog signal to the digital one, which can be identified with the computer.The PCI bus Data acquisition card change data with computer by ISA interface, but ISA interface's speed is very low, and often cause bottleneck question. PCI bus independence from CPU, high speed and so on, and today PC mostly use PCI interface .the main task of research changes ISA interface of Data acquisition card into PCI interface. AT the same time, deviser utilize CPLD technology to replace some parts, simply circuit.This paper introduces hardware and software technology and design experience from the structure and principium of the PCI data acquisition card. On the aspect of hardware, it refers to the hardware circuit design of the PCI data acquisition card, CPLD technology. The basic structure and characteristics of PCI bus, and especially, the method of implementation of PCI bus interface circuit, are disussed at length im paper. Based on the analysis of several typical means of PCI interface circuit, the systemic architecture of high-speed data acquisition card taking PLX9052as the core on PCI bus is given and realized. Besides, have introduced the whole systematic design, the function and realization of each module in detail and especially.Meanwhile, have introduced the exploiting procedure of CPLD based on AHDL language and the basic principle of PCB design in the high-speed circuit, as well.On the aspect of software technology, in windows, it needs device driver to handle the hardware. The article introduces the development of device driver and some develop tools; DDK, VtoolsD, Windriver. The select among the development tools for device driver is first recommend. It relates to the design idea and method of the communication Device driver program DLL. And give some PCI device drivercode.The main process of the development on system is as follows:1. Firstly, apply Protel99 software to design the SCH chart of the high-speed intelligent communication card, secondly, design PCB charts and send them to the factory.2. Make download cable by principle of ALTERA Corporation;3. Complete part function by CPLD technology, and download into chips on MAX+PLUS system.4. Configure EEPROM by PCI9052 data book, and write EERPOM;5. Write driver of PCI card;The paper has accomplished the design of the data acquisition card with the PCI bus interface, and the card has already been used. The performance of the card has achieved the request.
