With the rapid development of science and technology, the performance of the sensor is advanced ,and the multi-sensor system for the complex context is emerged in large numbers. At the same time, it is necessary for modern weapon systems and battle efficiency .In the beginning of 1970s,the multi-sensor management is quickly developed. Because of gradual realization, the multi-sensor management which plays a feedback role in multi-sensor data fusion starts to exist. In this dissertation, the theory and method of sensor management are studied and the main contributions are as follows:1.Collecting and trimming the basic theory of the multi-sensor management, for example, the function, context, model of the sensor management and so on which are the indispensable knowledge to study the sensor management.2.The classification of sensor management method is put forward firstly, which is centralized management and decentralized management. The adaptation of the classification is proved for different example to different context.3. Through studying the basic theory, different application of the sensor management is analyzed, and its necessary is demonstrated by real examples.4.Through researching relative materials, the sensor management algorithm of the linear programming is analyzed, for instance, the sensor management of efficient function.in addition the sensor management algorithm of combination of efficiency and waste is posed initially and proved by computer simulation.5.Through researching the various senor management algorithm, especially analyzing and comparing the linear programming algorithm, the theory of FISST(finite-set statistics) is put forward to be used to apprise the performance of the sensor management algorithm .
