Both modern high-speed motorways and vehicles that drive upon them are becoming increasingly intelligent. In particular, communication devices are being installed in more and more cars and roadside infrastructure components. In the not-too-distant future, traveling vehicles will be able to communicate while forming ephemeral, rapidly changing ad hoc network. At the same time, they will have direct access to a fixed roadside network infrastructure with information flowing both ways. So, this brings about the naissance of the vehicular network. Sometimes it is also called as VANET. As a component of the intelligent transportation system (ITS) and one of the concrete applications of mobile ad hoc network, VANET has attracted research attention from both the academia and industry.First, this paper introduces the "wireless mobile vehicle network" concept and summarizes some research projects of vehicle network abroad in recent years and their experiences. On this basis, it analyzes the characteristics of the vehicle network shows the architecture of the vehicle network and sums up several kinds of real application scenes with the analysis of the corresponding demandSecond, on the basis of summarizing the foregoing technology, the paper gives three kinds of architecture of data dissemination for the vehicle network. With the investigation of their characteristics and ranges of applications and classification of the data dissemination, it gives the idea of designing the data dissemination algorithm under various kinds of architecture. Finally, this paper proposes a novel vehicle network data dissemination algorithm (VNDDA). VNDDA is designed to exploit vehicle mobility for data dissemination, and combines the idea of opportunistic forwarding, postponed waiting forwarding and geographical forwarding. This algorithm is used to disseminate data in vehicle network according to the vehicle's position, velocity, direction and the critical degree of accidents. In the contrary of most existing protocols, VNDDA is reactive and adaptive dedicated to supporting the exchange of information between traffic participants effectively. At the end of the paper is provided the next research direction and aim.
