The question of the mosaic of plenty of sequence images is often met in the field of engineering technology such as military, machine, medicine, etc. How to realize the mosaic with celerity, it is a focus of domestic and international to keep accuracy and stability. Now, there are two main methods used in the mosaic: One is a software-based technology, the algorithm of this method is very complicated and the speed of the mosaic is slow, which made it hard to realize fast mosaic of many images in engineering; another is hardware-based, this method demands highly for the equipments of hardware, its control system is complicated and its reliability is bad. In recent reports, the good method is not found yet about automatic and fast mosaic of sequence images.The core digital image scanner is a typical example of utilizing the technology of image mosaic. The core is the most important, firsthand, frequently used materials in exploration of oil and geology research, its functions can not be replaced by other indirect exploring method. So it is important to acquire, utilize, conserve and manage core. In our country , the measures of conserving the core in most oil company is putting it in the specific box after labeled the corresponding parameters. But as time goes by, the core maybe weather seriously and then lost its research value; meanwhile, the outmoded core is getting more and more, which makes it difficult for the workers to manage and transport it only by hand, etc.With the improvement of the mosaic technique of sequence image and the processing ability of microcomputer, some powerful core scanners have appeared in both home and abroad market, which provide a new way to utilize, conserve and manage core. But in practice, they all have some defects such as complicated control system, big volume, heavy weight, hard to carry, etc. Aiming at this fact and connecting our research object, we made an improvement on existing core scanners with accurate displacement grating-sensor ,this paper have built the experimental model of portable core image scanner for the bottom of hole and made a further study on the mosaic of the core sequence image. The achievement we have made are discussed in this paper as follows:1 On the basis of analyzing the relevant technology of digital image processing and the matching algorithm among the sequence images, relating to the detail requirement of the portable core scanner, this paper come up with the changeable net template matching algorithms. On the premise of enough precision, which improved the matching speed of the sequence images and then established the theories foundation for the fast mosaic of the sequence images.2 Through the research on the measuring principle of displacement sensor and the corresponding technology between grating and computers, this paper set up the module for gathering displacement data through COM port by grating, by which we can get the real-time data under the condition of changing speed and made a primary discuss about the system error produced in the course of gathing.3 Aiming at its own characters of sequence images in the portable scanner, on the basis of analyzing mosaic of the images in domestic and international, this paper raised a fast mosaic method for a large number of sequence images -equal distance mosaic method for sequence images.4 According to the principle of module programming, this paper divided the system into modules, and carrying on programming and debug to corresponding module with VC++6.0.5 In agreement with the mosaic principle in this paper, this paper designed the experimental project and obtained the image data from the lacer interferometer andcompleted fast mosaic of the equal sequence images.6 In conformity to the concrete request of the portable core scanner, this paper designed the experimental modal of the image scanner, conforming the structure of hardware and software of the apparatus approximately, which built a foundation for the further application and research.
