The biometrics character recognition across the information technology and biometrics technology domains has become more important in this knowledge economy age. The biometrics recognition has unexampled advantages compared with previous conventional figure identifying means. And the gait recognition is attached more extensive importance because of its predominance such as unaffection, simple collection, identification from far away and so on. So this paper aims at the gait recognition.Visual analysis of human motion is currently one of the active research topics in the domain of gait recognition. This interest is driven by a wide spectrum of promising applications in many areas such as virtual reality ,smart surveillance, perceptual user interface. Human motion analysis aims at attempting to detect, track and identify people, and more generally, to understand human behaviors, from image sequences involving humans. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of recent developments of vision-based human motion analysis, and it keeps up with the latest research.______________This paper proposes a simple and efficient motion-based gait recognition algorithm by silhouette analysis. For each image sequence, an improved background subtraction algorithm and a simple correspondenceprocedure are first used to segment and track the moving silhouettes of a walking figure from the background. Then ,eigenspace transformation is applied to reduce the dimensionality of the input feature space. Supervised pattern classification techniques are finally performed in the lower-dimensional eigenspace for recognition.Previously, the force field technique had only been applied to the recognition of ears. The purpose of this paper has been to research the feasibility of applying this new technique in the automatic recognition of gait. The aim of the project has been to develop the force field application to include two dimensions and three dimensions, and the individual gait's characteristics can be analysed. By inspection of the resulting magnitude images, it's clear that different people's walks are distinct. The results of the paper show that this force field technique is appropriate for use in the automatic recognition of gait.Between these two gait recognition methods, the calculation of figure pick-up is more simple ,and the recognition effect of force field is much better.
