Recently, wireless Ad-Hoc networks are gathering growing in the information technology industry as newly arising wireless communication networks. Ad-hoc networks are used more and more widely in military and civilian applications due to the rapid organizing of networks and the outstanding ability of destruction-resistance and self-recovery. There are inherent vulnerabilities that is not easily preventable in mobile wireless Ad-Hoc networks. To build secure mobile Ad-Hoc networks, intrusion detection techniques need to be deployed; In paper, the intrusion detection and cluster-based Ad-Hoc networks has been introduced, then, an architecture for better intrusion detection in wireless Ad-Hoc networks has been shown after studying on application circumstance of the mobile Ad-Hoc networks using by Land Force in miniature . A statistical anomaly detection approach has been used. The anomaly detection and trace analysis have been done locally in each node and possibly through cooperation with clusterhead detection in the network. The intrusion detection algorithm our used is to learn behavior patterns and to detect anomaly behavior using by a hybrid HMM/ART2 model. The training algorithm and detection algorithm are presented. The practical implementation of this hybrid system is also illustrated. Experimental results show that the false negative rate and the false positive rate of the hybrid system are both lower than the HMM based system. According by the characteristic of the MANET, the method of special signature and general signature united is used to build the intrusion signature library. We have deployed the key part of architecture by coding. The test data get from simulation using OPNET tools has been compared and analyzed. The methods are tested on the synthesized data . The results of our preliminary experiments have shown that this methods have improved the performance of intrusion detection system. Finally, some problems to be further studied are discussed and the further development of intrusion detection technology on Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks is discussed.
