| The manufacturing informatization is the trend of the manufacturing industry development in the world nowadays. It is the necessary choice for the manufacturing industry developing quickly and continuously in our country. The ASP(Application Service Provider), a new network service mode, is an effective means for manufacturing industry enterprises to raise its informatization level. Aimed the development of the manufacturing resources management system in ASP, this paper researched the description and evaluation for the manufacturing resources in ASP.The outlines of the paper could be summarized as follows. Based on the classification and the general description frame for manufacturing resources in ASP, the descriptive model was established for typical manufacturing resources. The descriptive specifications were studied and determined mainly for the machine tools in the class of hardware resources and the CAD software in software resources, on which the database of the resources could be constructed and the related software could be developed. The database of the manufacturing resources was developed by using SQL Server 2000 and the related software in the ASP platform was written by JSP code so that the deployment of the manufacturing resources could be carried out according to the requirements of the users. The method for users to evaluate the available resources on-line was researched and the software was developed on the base of the mathematical model established according to AHP. The running process and the effect of the system were given in the end of the paper bymeans of an example.The description model, descriptive specifications, database and the evaluation for the manufacturing resources researched in this paper are the important constitutes of the manufacturing resources management system in ASP. The research results of the paper would complement the tool-sets in ASP and play the important parts on the application of ASP in manufacturing enterprises.
