The non-stationary signal is widely distributed in the reality, such as audio, radar and sonar signals. Time-frequency analysis is an effective tool to process the non-stationary signals. Due to the time-variant signals in array signal processing, time-frequency analysis has applicable value. The paper discusses the application of time-frequency analysis in it. It presents a new method of DOA estimation in time-frequency domain, via establishing the STFD matrix and combining the traditional methods of array signal processing. Based on analyze t-f MUSIC and STFD matrix, we get some improved methods, which select the correct t-f points, more efficiently suppress the effect of the cross-terms and reinforces the diagonal performance, therefore improves the precision and performance of DOA estimation. The simulations show the validity of the new methods.
