Nonlinear filters do a good job in suppressing impulsive and multiplicative noise compared with linear filters. So they are widely used in digital signal processing and image processing and worthy of research.Stack filters are a class of nonlinear digital filters possessing threshold decomposition and stacking property. These two important properties ensure that the filtering go on in binary filed only with easy comparison, addition and multiplication, which allow an efficient VLSI implementation. This paper studies the architecture and theory of stack filters and the adaptive algorithms for designing stack filters. Some emulator of the presented algorithms is given to prove their validity. This paper analyses the effect on the image detail when use traditional nonlinear filters, And combine the theory of noise label, then a new ameliorated stack filters is introduced to reduce the effect . which can suppressing impulsive and multiplicative noise and can holding the image detail information effective. This paper analyses the VLSI implementation scheme of stack filters, then analyses the logistic structure based on the usage of 3x3 Moving Window, the analyses and resolve some problem appear during this course.
