In this thesis, basing on a real application of a business logistics enterprise, we mainly discuss the data warehouse technique and its application in middle size logistics enterprise, and also propose a method of constructing a data warehouse based on extensible dimensional modeling and change data capture based on trigger technique.Extensible dimensional modeling is mainly used to solve the complexity of operation pattern. In this thesis, we thoroughly analyze the method to implement extensible dimensional modeling and accomplish a model design of a data warehouse with the method.Change data capture based on trigger technique is mainly used to adapt to the frequently modifying data in the operation of the enterprise. In thesis, we discuss the method to implement change data capture based on trigger technique and a simplified method of it, which is used to accomplish the design of change data capture in the data warehouse.In this thesis, we analyze systematically the whole lifecycle of the development of a data warehouse, and developed a data warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Data Transformation Services and BrioQuery Designer 6. In this thesis, we discuss the design and implement method of each part of the data warehouse by examples.The data warehouse system developed in the project has already been used. The system is able to help the enterprise manages comprehensively and accurately understand the enterprise information, and provide an assistant function for them to make decisions.The method proposed in this thesis can also be used in middle size enterprises other than logistics enterprise. And the method is also valuable for those who want to build data warehouse in middle size enterprise and complicated operation mode.
