Because of its promise of dramatic capacity improvements, outstanding capability in eliminating ISI and high speed data transmission capability, more attraction is focused on the MIMO (Multiple input Multiple output) system. This project investigates the diversity technology and frequency-domain equalization in MIMO system and its implementation in FPGA.This thesis first introduces the background and history of MIMO system, and describes MIMO principles and key technologies including channel coding and decoding, interlace, STBC (Space-Timed Block-Coded), pilot, CP(cyclic prefix) and implementing modulation and demodulation by IDFT/DFT. It also analyses the similarities and differences between CP-SC FDE system and CP-OFDM system. So we have a primary understanding for the whole MIMO system.Secondly, with the understanding of the whole scheme of system, this paper particularly described the essential idea and the realization principle of diversity technique and frequency-domain equalization technique .It thereout educes the united Space-Time detecting arithmetic.Thirdly, this paper discussed the arithmetic modification of the scheme's fix-point realization. After setting forth the questions when the scheme is realized to be fix-point program, the practical scheme is presented. With this understanding, fix-point program's simulation results are also giving to analyze the performance losing. The results demonstrate the modification's effect is very limited to the total system's performance.Lastly, this paper presents some content realized in a demo system. The module works in FPGA. We implemented the TDDC model FDE model of MIMO system with VHDL in the FPGA Virtex-II manufactured by Xilinx Company.
