Multiple frequency CW radar is regarded as a great revolution to the structure of traditional ranging radar. It can be used in such areas as target range and electronic warfare. It takes full responsibility for the weapon performance evaluation. So it's very important to do search on the theory of signal detection. In this paper, we research the signal detection and acceleration compensation in the situation of maneuvering target. In the first part, we analyze the influence in method of spectral analysis, and then the concept of the best period of time is put forward in evaluating the Doppler filter, as reference of the period of time selected. In the second part, we discus the detection ability analyzed in the best period of time. It is useful in selecting the SNR threshold in signal detection. The performance of the radar declines in low SNR, especially in the situation of maneuvering target, so the acceleration compensation is required. A new method of LFM signal detecting based on the data series rebuild, together with a new compensation method by the data series itself is discussed in the third part. Before the acceleration estimating by DAF, we add the rebuild series filter, and the acceleration can be estimated in lower SNR than before, the ranging calculating errors performing better than before when the target velocity is changing, so the radar can be used in more complex target and wider field.
