In today's distributed computing environment, we must login many different systems and applications. The probability of making mistake and having security problems will be heightened along with the amount of the systems that we logged in. In other respects, the correctness of user authentication will difficult to ensure. The cost and difficulty of maintaining system will increase, too. Therefore, it is necessary to have a portal system to uniformly manage the authentication and authorization of all systems. The purpose of developing this system is to predigest user's operations and administrator's works. Every user has a unique account. All systems have a uniform entrance and can be integrated simply. We take on the SSO (Single Sign-On), XML and XSL technology to develop this system. According to the requirement, we divide all rights into an N levels' model and provide a mature authorization mechanism. In this portal system, we use DBCP (Database Connection Pool) to solve the problem of concurrency efficiency. This system satisfies our design requirement, such as uniform resources management, uniform integrated, uniform authentications, uniform entrance, extensible and migratable. We have also established the criterion of resources coding and how to integrate a sub-system into our portal system. This portal system is the basic platform to integrate and manage others applications.
