The Study On The Problem Of Image Matching

Image Matching is a procedure that is a part of one image are matched with parts of other images, it is a common tool in many applications, including object recognition, stereo matching, and feature tracking. Image matching is employed for relative several fields such as image re-sample, transformation pre-analysis and feature extraction. Image matching has long been and still is one of the most challenging tasks in image research and development. This paper mainly discusses problems that are encountered in image matching problems which were developed in our project.This paper gives a brief survey of existing techniques of image matching, analytic image matching algorithms in image retrieval, Some of the fundamental problems which have to be dealt with are discussed, and suggests some directions for future research.The paper introduce some basic algorithms of matching method, the gray value windows, image features and sub-pixel accuracy method. As foundation of this image matching, although these basic algorithms are fundamental method, they are very important.Based on the research results given by Goshtasby, a stable and robust algorithms of image matching algorithms is proposed, the algorithm has many advantages.The paper also discussed the algorithm of principal axis angle for concentric circle matching.
