Simulation & Research For High Rate OFDM Base WLAN System Based On The IEEE802.11a

As a very convenient data transmission system, Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) is combination of wireless communication technology and internet. WLAN experience a growing popularity recently with development of communication .where WLAN were primarily used for niche applications in the past, they are now deployed as wireless extensions to computer networks. The increase of the data rates from 2Mbps up to UMbps.Inl999, the 802.11a Standard was introduced to allow for higher transmission rate at higher frequency in 5GHz band. The 54Mbps data rates can be achieved, which make WLAN technology develops at higher speed.In this paper, the first part introduces OFDM and the IEEE802.11a Standard. And then presents the design and implementation of a simulation model for physical layer in the WLAN system with the simulation tool MATLAB, which include the frame Synchronization, frequency estimation and channel estimation.
