Some further research work on the theories and methods of the calibration of piezoelectric accelerometer has been done and control techniques of virtual instrument have been introduced to increase the automation degree of the calibration system in this paper. In view of predecessors' research achievements we put forward a method using square wave excitation and the Fast Furrier Transformation (FFT) to realize the comparison calibration for the calibration system of piezoelectric accelerometer.The working principle, calibration system and all sorts of calibration methods of piezoelectric accelerometer are expounded in this thesis. The calibration of piezoelectric accelerometer is an important area of the shock and vibration measurement technology, and the calibrated piezoelectric accelerometer is divided into standard accelerometer and working accelerometer, usually standard accelerometer is calibrated by absolute method and working accelerometer is calibrated by comparison method. The method using square wave excitation presented by the paper is verified by theories and experiments that the method meets the requirement of accuracy, and this method's application simplifies manipulations and improve greatly the calibration efficiency.The introducing of control techniques of virtual instrument (VI) in the calibration system by this thesis not only makes the costly instruments is not necessary, but also make use of computer to control the calibration system and acquire, analysis, handle and save output data of piezoelectric accelerometer.
