The range-finding and aiming device is an important component of the self-propelled gun fire-control system, which is consisted of pulse liquid lazer, an automatic mounting unit with step by step motor, and a master controller box specified for information control and management, etc. Modern warfare requires a low rate of weapon malfunction and consequent stoppage. Once malfunctions occur, maintainer should be able to accurately track down the location and the mechanism of the fault. Traditionally, maintainer would do this referring to the parameters worked out with regular trouble-shooting detectors. Confined to regular performance tests and unable to calculate and analyze, the traditional method is, however, inefficient and thus inadequate for the need of technological support in modern combats. The development of the computer technology has provided powerful means for the automatic testing of the range-finding and aiming device.Being a comprehensive introduction to the structure, operational principle, and performance index, and centering on the hardware of the test system based on singlechip construction and on the development of the software and the data communication applications, the present article mainly deals with the research and experiments on the test system of the range-finding and aiming device on self-propelled guns. This thesis also discusses some issues concerning the anti-jamming technique of the system. This test system can accurately, reliably, and automatically accomplish a series of performance-testing and trouble-shooting for the range-finding and aiming device, and can make statistics for the test result or print them out by the upper body. With the help of the test results, maintenance personnel can repair the system quickly and correctly, which can greatly enhance the technological support capability of the self-propelled gun troops. Without the shortages as with the traditional ones, the new system is feasible, flexible and expansible in practical application.
