In the dissertation investigation of Yb3+-doped Double Clad Fiber Laser is presented based on some theories and model testing and research on disc fiber laser is also provided along with the design for disc fiber laser. The main subjects are as follows:1,Brief review of the history, development and applications of Yb3+-doped double clad Fiber Lasers are introduced.2,Some analysis on the principle and output characteristics of Yb3+-doped double clad fiber lasers is introduced, the characteristics of stimulated emission of Yb3+ in silica fiber is represented, some basic design and structure of Yb3+-doped double clad fiber is represented, power govern equations of Yb3+-doped double clad fiber lasers are induced from typical rate equations with a comprehensible model and the analysis of its power characteristic is also presented .By using the numerical calculation, it is found that there is an optimum fiber length in Yb3+-doped double clad fiber at a defined pump power with the highest output power. Exact numerical solution of the rate equation is shown to be in excellent agreement with the experimental data.By setting up the theory model, the merit and shortcoming of two designs for disc fiber laser are provided. Relevant parameters of disc fiber laser are confirmed and the ideal design is given.
