With the rapid development of Internet and the increasing need of all kinds ofwireless services, the wireless communication networks which are characterized byvoice service, can not meet the need of most people now. Therefore, the system of thethird generation mobile communication (IMT-2000), which is characterized by largecapacity, high data rate and multimedia service, will be the cardinal technology of thewireless communication in the future. Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA) is oneof the cardinal multiple access technologies due to its good antinoiseperformance ,security and low power in the system of the third generation mobilecommunication. The IS-95 standard was presented as a spread-spectrum digitalcellular system based on CDMA by Qualcomm company in 1990. It was the firstsystem which introduced the CDMA technology in digital cellular mobilecommunications as a standard. So it is the basis of the third generation cellular mobilecommunications. In the field of electronic design ,the application of ProgrammableLogic Device(PLD) brought us much convenience. Hardware DescriptionLanguage(HDL)can be used to describe the behavior and function of hardware circuiteasily, which changed the traditional method of the design of digital system. As astandard of IEEE, Verilog HDL was widely used in the design of electronic system inmodern countries all over the world. This thesis introduces the relevant knowledgefirstly. Then, theoretical analyses are given regarding all the cardinal modules ofIS-95 CDMA reverse access channel ,such as convolutional encoder, symbol repeater,block interleaver, Walsh code modulator, long code generator, quadrature phasespreader, baseband filter, QPSK modulator and so on. In the end ,we use Verilog HDLto implement all the modules and give the results of function simulation and relevantwaveform pictures. The results of function simulation prove this design to be right.All the modules are of concise codes ,clear comments. They can be replanted insimilar system easily. As a result, the achievements of the design which lay a solidbasis of the work in the future are of practical values.
