This paper presents the software of digital particle image velocimetry (DPIV) image processing. The software uses Windows XP as its O.S. and MATLAB as its basic software. The tool software is Visual C++ 6.0.The software includes three main parts: (1) Pre-processing, means carrying out denoising operation to the images with morphological filter: (2) After this, one of three kinds of methods can be selected to do the processing operation.(3) Post-processing. This process is the complementarity to the step 2.Velocity profiles and the picture of vorticity correspond to the flow field can be got in this step and the processed data can be saved too.To design the software, the following knowledge should be mastered: software engineering, digital image processing, the object-oriented technology, the MATLAB programming and VC++ 6.0 program design and so on. In this article, the program method of combination of VC++ 6.0 and MATLAB is adopted for the first time.This software can open two digital images according to the user, and there are six pre-processing methods to do the denoising process. Of course in order to get better result, select two or three of them is also ok. The main function of the software is processing which includes three different methods. Standard of selecting is the velocity and precision needed. The last step is the post-processing. The pre-processing is realized by VC++ 6.0 and the other two are by MATLAB. With the combination of MATLAB and VC++ 6.0, the software gets advantages both in the friendly interface and the algorithm innovation.The software holds friendly user interface like Windows. So it is easy to use and learn.
