Design And Realization Of Region Geographic Informaiton System Based On Feature Model

Geographic Information System(GIS) is a burgeon subject which was brought forward in the sixties of the twentieth century and developed from many subjectssuch as computer science, geography, informatics, environment science, manage science. It makes use of the theory of the system engineer and informatics, and in scientific way manages and synthetically analyses data with space meaning with the help of the computer software and hardware. Geographic Information System gives birth to map, they are all the carrier of geographic information, and are provided with the function of obtaining, storing, editing, processing, analyzing and displaying geographic data. The map is the second language in geography, ;ind the GIS is the third one.The core of this paper is the design and realization of the Region GIS based on feature model. Firstly it introduces the feature model which is one of the space data model in GIS area. With the experience of my development of Region GIS project, it concretely analyses and introduces the requirement analysis, the selection of development mode, the analysis of user operation function and the design together with realization of data management, user interface management. It concludes the direction of general design pattern and some algorithm, so that it provides some help to the latter who is probably going to develop the same project. At last, it summarizes the Region GIS based on feature model objectively, and gives out the prospect of the GIS.
