Application Of Role-Based Access Control In Product Data Management System

Rational and effective user privilege management provided the foundation for PDM system's work. With the cosmopolitan economy and dog-eat-dog market, the enterprises become distributed in different areas and work collaboratively. In this case, it is the key that how to realize the safely access in enterprise information system on Intranet/Internet. Role-based access control is hotspot of research and advanced field, which takes the advantage to solve the problem of safely access in enterprise information system.This paper introduces the development situation and trend of PDM system at home and abroad. A technology based on the RBAC is brought forward which matched the request ions that realize the safely access in distributed and collaboratively enterprise PDM system on Intranet/Internet.With the in-depth analysis of the concept and theory about safely access control and RBAC model, this paper puts forward a rough architecture of a safely access control model based RBAC, the essential meaning and function of its component are discussed too.As one part of all researches, the paper studies how to realize user privilegemanagement in a distributed and collaboratively enterprise PDM system--WINCAN CPM. With those techniques, this paper accomplishes the data base design and corresponding programs.At last, the paper summarizes all the researches and briefly describes the run process of the Role-based access control technique.
