Information warfare and communication systems in the present require higherand higher communication technology. FH (Frequency Hopping) has many benefitssuch as good security, strong anti-jamming and CDMA network building, and etc.Thereby it shows more and more advantages in military and civil utilization. Hoppingfrequency synthesizer is the heart of FH system, whose performance affects thecapability of FH system critically. The study and implementation of hoppingfrequency synthesizer is important for building FH system. The fundamental principle of FH and hopping frequency synthesizer isintroduced, and variant technologies of frequency synthesizing analyzed andcompared in the thesis. On this basis, frequency synthesizer scheme of DDS+PLL isdesigned and optimized. In the scheme, merits of DDS remedy default of PLL. And sohopping speed of frequency is fast, stepping of frequency fine, and output frequencyhigh. Many ways of improving locking speed of frequency synthesizer are alsodiscussed in this thesis. The goal of this scheme is to design a kind of frequency synthesizer for 720G FHradio. According to the need of frequency synthesizer by FH radio, the synthesizerwas realized in hardware, and was simulated, tested and then plotted in table and chartin Cauer filter, tuning character of VCO, the lock time, spuries, frequency accuracy,amplitude.
