Remote process call (RPC) is an important tool to construct distributed system for it's simplicity, agility and powerful, it has been used extensively ever since its came into being.Nowdays, most of these RPC mechanism can't be used in these systems of distributed multi-processor architecture such as distributed Router, run short of the sustain of communication middleware such as RPC, it become very complicate to develop communication program in such distributed multi-processor architecture systems. In this paper, the author designs and implements a sort of augmented RPC (ARPC) mechanism for some IPv6 distributed Router, this RPC mechanism take inter-process communication (IPC) protocol of IPv6 distributed Router as its bottom communication protocol, data exchange between local and network is accomplished through XDR (external data represent) protocol, so as to sustain the communication between heterogeneous processor. Except to realize the function of normal RPC , ARPC provides a number of new capabilities not available in normal RPC. These capabilities include: dynamic load balancing, service transparence, service parallel execution, synchronous and asynchronous call, out-of order replies, dynamic creating of server, combined client-server support, P2P communication style, receipt acknowledgement and so on. These new functions establish a stable base for IPv6 distributed router to solve high level questions.
