Application And Research On Product Configuration In PDM

PDM is a new technology witch is popularized in manufacturing after CAD technology in china. It can manage all of the information and the process relating to the products. It is an important portion of advanced manufacture technology. It should be in proper sequence to popularize PDM in enterprise. It is difficult to put PDM into full-scale practice because there is a limit to technology level and financial. This paper makes researches on PDM's kernel function-PCM(Product Configuration Management) under the conditions of AutoCAD and low-price DBMS witch could be acceptable in our middle or small factories. This paper mainly discusses the recursive query algorithm based on general database witch is offered in Oracle ,theproblem of the automatic BOM maker for AutoCAD and conversion from BOM to product structure trees. Thus the data of AutoCAD files could go intoERP (Enterprise Resource Plan). Considering development of Internet and EC (Electronic Commerce), the article discussed the conversion from BOM and Product structure to XML document automatically, which offers data joins for further development. The fruits of this article are adapt to things of china, and makes the factories realize low-cost modernization.
