Motion control is a comprehensive field on the base of electrical drive. With the development of micro-electronics and micro-processor technology, high performance of motion control system is easy to realize.Servo control system is one branch of motion control system. In this paper AC servo control system is introduced specially for its popularity in position control field. Today, in the factory automation field, motion control system is widely used for sophisticated requirements. Its popularity orients from the improvement of productivity, and manufacturing industry demands on high precision and flexible production equipment.The common point of motion control system lies in its position control to working axes. The axes could be positioned according to another axes or coordinate system. And NC system is the typical position control.From the users view, NC control system could be adapted to various hardware platform and provide kindly human machine interface to facilitate operation , system improvement and maitenance is also very important. Open NC control system just follows the trend. Many advanced control arithmetic are also realized in software under this Open NC platform.In this paper, we emphasized on the function of parameters adjusting, close loop, feedback and advanced control tactics with the NUT-1 Open NC system. At the same time, research is conducted on the AC servo system under the guidance of self- adaptive and advanced control theory. In exordium, author briefly introduces the concept of servo, motion control and relevant knowledge, to give outline of the system.In chapter 2,4, author detailed the characteristic ,technical trend and relevant performance of AC servo system, and give a particular introduction of close loop control. Relevant research is conducted on the NUT-1 system which is a self developed NC system with PMSM drive.In chapter 3,traditional PID arithmetic is introduced and application of advanced control theory in AC servo control system is described , providing the knowledge preparation of simulation test.In the chapter 5 and 6, mathematical model of whole system and relevant feedback control section is described clearly, test on the system is executed. The experiment show: quick response, non-overshoot, and higher location accuracy with the advanced control arithmetic. In the last chapter, author review all the work about the ac servo system and give suggestion about the further research.
