The paper discusses adaptive parallel interference cancellation (PIC) algorithm based on the research of multi-user detect technology, analyzes the effect of partial cancellation factor on the performance of detector, put forward a new variable step size LMS algorithm, and applies the algorithm to PIC. The computer simulation results confirm that the variable step-size algorithm proposed in the paper outperform other variable step-size algorithm and LMS algorithm. Variable step-size LMS algorithm can improve the performance of PIC. On the same user, the bit error probability of the mended PIC is lower clearly than the conventional partial PIC. While interfere user receive powers is over the receive powers of the expected user, the algorithm proposed in the paper show the good ability in near-far resistance.
