Chromosome Karyotypintg.the classical method in the technology of chromosome genetic analysis ,is one of the important means in genetic research and supplementary clinical diagnosis . And it is then key index to analyze chromosome translocation or deficiency , and diagnosis of a variety of genetic diseases . The goal of chromosome analysis is to relate deviations from normal structure to biological or clinical effects . With the development of pattern recognition ,and image processing methods begin widely used in medicine .automatic chromosome analysis becomes possible . The automatic karotyping will increase then efficiency of availability ,and relax then medical persons, it can be performed by the operators who have no professional technology and experiences. At then same time then remote chromosome analysis becomes possible. In this paper preprocessing ,feature extraction and selection ,and rough classification are performed on then chromosome images. Some experiments are made to verify the effectiveness of the methods presented.In the procedure of chromosome image preprocessing ,we calculate threshold by the method of generic differentiation which is put forward by Qtsu ,the image which is dealt with by the threshold has good detached character . After the processing of chromosome image ,using then method of tab ,we can finish automatic division of chromosome image and get the single chromosomes . In the automatic processing of chromosome division ,we can erase impurity and save chromosomes that we will need to label in the end.Area,girth,centromer index are important features in identifying the chromosomes . Finding the centromer index depends on finding then centromere and the length of then chromosome. we find then location of centromer by the framework which is produced after the calculation of girth ,then we can calculate centromer index. The experiment results indicate this method is good ,we select area ,girth .centromer index to classify the chromosomes .The experiment results indicate that ,if the chromosomes on then slide isolation each other ,and there are no overlapping chromosomes ,the above methods are quite effective.
