Today, computers have come into every corner of human life. Computers are not simple tools any more. In most cases, they are core components of our daily life. So we have to change our mind to adapt to them. With the development of computer technology and Internet, this problem becomes serious. People begin to think what computer and network should be, how they can work for us, thus the thought of pervasive computing conies into mind. The aim of pervasive computing is to enhance the function and influence of computers by embedding them into physical world around us. At the same time, they are transparent to end users. This thesis begins with pervasive computing environment. Then an appropriate application model is put forward on the research work of traditional application models. Then the key elements of the model , Internet connection, service gateway architecture, service management framework, are discussed individually. A SSP-VPN based secure connection solution is proposed. A service gateway architecture is put forward. At last, we implement the prototype of service management framework on the service gateway. A simple Bundle is created to test the practicability of the implementation. The main contributions in this thesis can be concluded as following:1. Put forward an application model of pervasive computing;2. Put forward an SSP-VPN based home network connection solution;3. Put forward a home gateway architecture;4. Implement the service management framework prototype system.. During the research, the author took part in the iHome project raised by SVA-IBM joint Lab, studied pervasive computing technologies, and published one piece of paper in domestic core magazine.
