Transfusion needle for single use is one of the most heavy easily-consumed products in hospital. It is assembled by hand in most companies of our country. It has a lower efficiency and is difficult to reach a high-standard hygienic requirements.A method of inspection by the position of needlepoint with image technology is provided in the paper, so that automatic assemble can be realized. Concerning the characteristics of the image of transfusion needle, the required functions of the software are analyzed systematically. With VC6.0 and Object-Oriented Programming technology, the application software used to process the image is developed.Considering the image of transfusion needle, digital image processing technology is applied and optimized in the software: medium filtering and hologram equalization are applied to strength the weak signal. Binary value image is gained through a new image segmentation approach by using automation threshold selection. The contour curve is obtained with Sobel operator, and thus the angel of the contour curve of needlepoint image can be computed.Integrated application software with complete visual form, easily operation, friendly frame and excellent maintenance is developed through VC6.0. The sofwarecan meet the requirement of image process. Also, the application software can be used in processing other various image.
