With the development of network, network security is becoming more important. Many security technologies have been used in network security fields. But most security measures belong to passive defense and are lack of positive safeguard.Intrusion detection is a rising technology of network security system and a positive defensive technology. It becomes the focus of computer and network security experts' attention. It can detect network security leaks on timely, response quickly, enhance network security, and make intrusion more difficult.The article mainly introduces intrusion detection technologies applied to network and the concept of agent. It also analyzes status of current network intrusion detection, puts forward a model of network intrusion detection system based on agent, and particularly introduces the system structure, working theory and traits of this model.
