Huang fu Shi was a famous essayist of Tong Dynasty following Han Yu. He was a leader and main member of the Ancient Essay Campaign. His renown was higher than li'ao and Zhang ji. He was eminent in Chinese literature history. However, predecessors' comments are various and vague concerning about Huangfu Shi's Collection at Essay and their spreading after Song Dynasty. So this paper is to study the edition source of the collection of Huang fu Shi's Essays. discuss its topic and discriminate its errors by Comparing about 20 kinds of editions of Song, Ming and Qing Dynasty through investigating the references including the division of Chapters, quantity of essays, alteration of arranging order preface of inscription, sign of preservation discrimination of seal, resorting to works of bibliography, so as to ascertain the source of collections and their handing down relationships. The article is divided into 3 parts: introduction, body and conclusion. In addition, the author provides the readers with an appendix of source system graph of the past dynasty editions.In introduction the author puts forward the reason of the topic and the topical contents.The body part is divided into 4 aspects, treating time as the guiding principle. The author, in this part, studies and examines Huangfu Shi's collection of Essay in details:â… .The collecting and spreading of Huangfu Chizheng's essays in Tang and FiveDynasties. This part studies the collecting and spreading situation of Huang fu Shi's essays in Tang and the Fire Dynasties by very limited materials the author paints out that Huang fu Shi's opuses were sorted into collection in Tang Dynasty. But the concerned annals and literatures very limited. There are only a few materials in Bai Juyi's poetry and Sikong Tu's article. We can know that the earliest the collection of Hwang fu Shi's Essay already have the main character of appearing in the later edition Lu You have surveyed it carefully. But this edition was destroyed in the War of the Five Dynasties. However, the Chong Wen's book Catalogue which compiled in North Song Dynasty has record the one-volume edition named the collection of Huang fu Shi's Essays. It was the offspring of the old Tang Dynasty's edition.â…¡.The edition and publication of the Collection of Huangfu Chizheng's Essays in Song Dynasty. In this part, writer use the way that connected the Catalogue records with the actual character to make a thorough exploration of how people in Song Dynasty edited and published the collection of Huang fu Shi's Essays, thus exposing to the reader what the various published editions and trans cribbed copies look like and how they were handed down form generation to generation. Topics of discussion are the following: (1)According to the annals and catalogues, writer point out the three-volume edition named the collection of Huangfu Shi's Essays that record in New tang Dynasty's History should be re-compiled in Song Dynasty. This edition wasreserved in the cabinet and destroyed in the war of the later Ming dynasty. (2)The six-volume edition named the Huangfu Chizheng's Essays which was record in Chao gongwu's Jun Zhai's Catalogue of Book is the very important transitive edition. It's the origin of all the later editions too. (3)The one Shu block-printed edition is the earliest of the extant editions, though it was copied from the former. Chen Zhengsun's Zhi Zhai's catalogue of Book record it, too.â…¢. The publication and transcription of the collection of Huangfu Chizheng's Essays in Ming Dynasty. In this part, the author explores origin of the various editions in Ming Dynasty by the language, foreword, sign and seal in the extant editions. (1) Wu's transcription was copied from the Song Dynasty edition reserved in the cabinet by Wu Kuan. Most Qing Dynasty's transcription were originated from it.
