With rapid expanding in size and durative reforming in education system of universities or institutes in China, The workload and the complexity of educational administration increases greatly. So it is necessary and necessitous to develop a high effective educational administration system based on network. At the same time, the establishment of campus network and introduction of Internet techniques have provided necessary conditions. Therefore, the educational administration system based on network is developed according to the characteristics of our university's teaching activities.During developing the system, we use the object-oriented technique to analyse and design the system. Considering the characteristics of more clients in the system, the B/S as a main mode and the C/S as an assisted mode are adopted. In order to get better retractility, the three-tier architecture with COM+ technique is adopted. In this paper, the object-oriented system analysis and design based on UML with its application in the system, the database model design and the method of mapping objects to relation Databases are explained. The first chapter introduces the meaning and backdrop of the task. The second chapter explains the system's whole design, including the system's architecture, platform, and software development method. In the third chapter, united modeling language UML , those object-oriented modeling techniques relatedto it and several deferent modeling methods are introduced. The fourth chapter elaborates the application of UML based object-oriented technology in the system analysis and design. In the fifth chapter, the database model is designed. At first, the theory of database modeling is discussed. Then the database model of the system is established by using the method of UML modeling. At last, the UML model is changed into relation model, and it is standardized and optimized. The method to change UML model into relation model is as well as discussed. The last chapter is summarization and expectation.
