It is well known that Computer Graphics always describe 3D scenes with planar polygon models, when rendering, with the techniques of projective transformation, 3D objects project to plane images under certain view points. For very complex scenes, we can not obtain realistic images by using traditional geometrical modeling techniques of computer graphics. But we can obtain realistic images by using multiple view geometry theory in computer vision to construct model based on images. This thesis concentrate on the research of the techniques and algorithms of view interpolation and display of planar scenes based on images, according to the projective geometry framework in computer vision. The main contents are follows:In this thesis, we first introduce some basic theories of multiple view geometry, such as homogeneous coordinates, projective geometry, pinhole camera model, two-view geometry etc. When talking about two-view geometry, we specially discuss the Epipolar Geometry and Fundamental Matrix, and proposed two kinds of algorithms of fundamental matrix: The normalized 8-point algorithm and 6-point algorithm, which play an important role in plane homography. Second , we introduce the basic theories of plane homography, discuss some kinds of algorithms of the computation of homography matrix, such as plane induced homographies with given F and image correspondences, the homography for corresponding points or lines etc. At last, we apply the algorithms computing homography to a real-time view interpolation system. This system integrate the theory of computer vision and image processing and the work of this thesis. Since we use the plane homography algorithm, we obtain real-time interpolation and real-time display, at the same time, the interpolation images satisfy perspectivity. The software is designed very easy to be operated, and can be widely used in some fields such as shopping in the internet, virtual reality etc.In a whole, the theory and algorithm of multiple view interpolation and display based on images especially on plane scene images do make a sense in computer graphics, and the study of computer vision in morphing and rendering, which also promote the study of image processing and virtual reality etc.
