Space deformation is an effective tool fOr geometric shape modification ingeometric modeling and computer animation system- However, the sampling problemfor the polygonal object deformation is unsolved yet.The accurate free-fOrm deformation of polygonal object can avoid the samplingproblem in theory, however it is too time-consuming to achieve real-time interaction.For the purpose of practical aPplication, we propose a modified accurate defOrmationmethod to improve the interaction and robustness. In the proposed method, thedefOrmation result of a poIygonal model is trimmed Bezier surface patches. Therepresentation of the trimmed suffoce is consistent with the industrial standard STEPThen, we put emphasis on the sampling problem in deformation modelscontrolled by parametric curves and surfaces. Through approximating the deformationspace by using curve and surface offset techniques, we obtain a unified spacedefOrmation model. Thus the sampling problem is solve natUrally At the same time,we provide a unified kernel for the imPlementation of different space deformationmodels.
