IP address embezzlement is a common problem. It has harassed network administrators for a very long time. In large Intranet, IP address embezzlement particularly has a high frequency, and it's harder to be solved. IP address embezzlement has a lot of bad effects to the network-running, and it also blocks the informationary course of enterprise, it's in dire need of being solved. This paper starts from the problem solving of IP embezzlement in Daqing oil field Intranet. The main architecture and TCP/IP protocol of large Intranet are carefully analysised; various domestic and foreign solving plans of IP embezzlement are deeply studied; the basic theory of solving IP embezzlment is detailedly discussed. On the basis, firstly, the technically-promising method of solving IP embezzlement: the method of preventing IP embezzlment based on SNMP has been expatiated; and then, a new method of preventing IP embezzlement: the method of preventing IP embezzlement based ARP spoofing has been brought forward; lastly, the key technic of preventing IP embezzlement: packet capturing has been studied, and a shortcut to implement packet capturing in Windows platform: the method of packet capturing based on Winpcap has been found. The new method firstly put forward by this paper: the method of preventing IP embezzlement based ARP spoofing, is low cost and easy to implement, and also, it's effectual to various kind of IP embezzlement. The method not only can sovle the problem of IP embezzlment in Daqing oil field Intranet, it's also can be used in all kinds of interneted network, which formed by Ethernet. The efficiency of this method has been affirmed by the practical application in Daqing oil field Intranet.
