The development of twenty years indicates that the pure mechanism is dying and the mechatronics system is springing up. Therefore, mechanical engineering must be renovated to the integrated mechatronics engineering. That is a challenge for mechanical engineering, as well as traditional mechanical expert and engineer. The control system is the key factor when the machinery converts to the mechatronics equipment. The design level of mechatronics' control system restricts the development of mechatronics technique to a large extent. At present, the design of mechatronics' control system is done by hand and has some problems such as lower intelligence's automation, higher demand of designer's experience, worst reusability and so on. What is more, the design of software depends on the design of hardware strongly and the programmed languages of different hardware vary. All of these above make for the present situation of higher cost, longer cycle and heavy burden of designers in developing the control system.In order to solve these problems, the project attempts to research on the virtual design and simulation system of Mechatronics's control system by imitating the manual design process, and realize the automation design of Mechatronics's control system from hardware selection, software generation to simulation. After the users input control tasks in three modes: natural language, electric sheet or flow char, the computer will receive the information of control demands by data mining and knowledge discovery. And then illation is leaded to select the hardware and program the software in the inner of the computer. Afterward, control program is transformed in the file format of exiting simulation software by using the simulation interface and is opened in the simulation software. Finally the control system can be simulated in the simulation software to check the correctness of it.Considering the after cooperation development, the project adopts the system frame based on the components programming technique. The project isdivided into three self-existent modules, which made in the mode of component: the module of control task understanding, the module of control system generation and the module of control simulation. They are developed, compiled, debugged and tested separately. When all components are implemented, the whole system is gained by integrating all the components. The design of control task understanding's module realized the mapping from the description of natural language to denotation of the computer by using the natural language technique. The design control system generation's module realized the hardware selection and automatic generation of software by using component technique for reference.Based on the above idea, the virtual design and simulation software facing to PLC control system was developed by using Visual Basic and following the component standard of COM. It has checked by the example of manipulator's design.
